Triumph Street Scrambler has been launched today in India with a price tag of Rs. 8.1 lakh (Ex-showroom, India). The Street Scrambler extends Triumph’s modern classic range with a scrambler-style version, based on the Triumph Street Twin, the entry-level modern classic in the Triumph Motorcycle range. Here are the engine specs and features that the newly launched bike has to offer.
Street Scrambler Engine Specs
The Street Scrambler comes with a 900cc, 2-cylinder, liquid cooled, multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection engine that churns out 54 bhp of max power at 6,000 rpm, and 80 Nm of max torque at 2850 rpm. The transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed gearbox. The fuel efficiency of the Street Scrambler has been claimed to be 18kmpl. The newly launched Triumph Street Scrambler is going to take on its immediate rival Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled.
Street Scrambler Features
The Street Scrambler has the same unmistakable Triumph Bonneville silhouette, but has changes in its details, most prominent being the high, and side-mounted ‘scrambler-style’ exhaust. Additionally, the Street Scrambler gets a larger front wheel, adventure style rider footpegs, and interchangeable pillion seat with an aluminium rear rack, removable pillion footpegs, and an engine bash plate. The seat is lower and narrower, and the tubular steel cradle chassis has been revised as well.
Street Scrambler Competition
The all-new Triumph Street Scrambler is going to take on its immediate rival – the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. That’s the only competition we can think of right now in terms of product positioning.
